For Immediate Release
September 24th, 2003

Seven Three Split reopens for the 2003/2004 season with a solo exhibition by Matthew Suib of Philadelphia. Suib transforms the gallery into three primary sections and presents three distinct video and audio installations: Flavin Flav (Cold Lampin'), The Sound of Sound of Music, and Space In/Space Out. Upon entering the gallery barking Flavin Flav lyrics combined with triggered white balanced fluorescent lights are guaranteed to disorient you as you navigate your way through out the rest of the mapped out space. See the Sound of Music as it's never been seen before: in 15 minutes and without any speaking parts. Space In/Space Out pays homage to the classic Voyager 1 & 2 NASA missions with a 16 minute sound piece and a screen-printed glow-in-the-dark 12 inch record sleeve.

Suib's photography, sound and video work has been exhibited at PS1 (NYC), The Contemporary Museum (Baltimore), The Stray Show (Chicago), The Institute of Contemporary Art (Philadelphia), The Philadelphia Museum of Art, and Sara Meltzer Gallery (NYC). He is currently an active member of the Philadelphia art cooperative gallery Vox Populi.
